Lecture of Guruji Mohan, Bremen, 13.10.2000:

So this camp is my  last camp of this year. I started my camps for European countries from London, then Düsseldorf, Cologne, meditation-camp in this month, my camp was in Berlin. So this 2000, this is the last camp for 2000. I think that just like a, like an artist, painter, sensitive man, I try to conclude my work in Bremen. Bremen was the first city from where I started my career as a guru, as a healer, as a person who can work for energy. In ’92 first time I was invited in Worpswede, I showed my capabilities, then this work was going on - people, hundreds of people in my camps. ‘Camps’ means, this is not a camp of  like concentration camp and other camp – but this is very difficult to give this word. ‘Camping’ means I used to travel, organize camp, people come there, they live together with me, they enjoy my energy, eat together with me, they listen (to) my talks – this is the meaning of ‘camp’. I try to change their life, way of life. That’s why this is known as ‘camp’.

I want to tell my experience, I want to share my experience, together with you. I am not here to create any kind of religion, I am not here to create any kind of disciple-hood, I am not going  to preach you any kind of Hinduism or Christianity or Muslimism, I am not related with any politics. I am (an) ordinary man. What I have found in myself , this is useful for mankind. That’s why I work for the people.

In (the) last months, when I was in India, I was the guest of a famous doctor. I went, stayed together with him. He was a very famous surgeon in India. He wanted to listen (to) some words from me. He wanted to share something from me, and I wanted to know him also. We lived together (for) three days. One day morning time I wanted to go outside to see some garden. And this doctor accompanied with me. When we were coming outside from the house his ten-year-old son sneezed. Then he told me: “Guruji stop, this boy is sneezing.” I told him: “What is the matter? You are a doctor. You know the meaning of sneezing, you know yourself. Is there any cold? Is there any some problem in the throat of this boy? I will not stop. This sneezing will not stop my way.” I was thinking myself : “This is a modern doctor, modern science in his mind and this sneezing is a blind faith of olden times.”

This modern science together with the blind faith of sneezing. Modern science together with certain kind of blind faiths, we have, all we have: if a cat is running, if somebody is sneezing, if somebody is calling bad name, if some monkey is coming in front of us. Let us see some historical event: This belief inside you and inside me is still working. If you see a man’s mind, human mind, you will find different kinds of contradictory things.

Your mind is like this: You are sitting in a cart and there are four horses, and these four horses, they are pulling in a different direction. One horse is pulling towards north, one horse pulling towards south, one horse pulling towards west, and one horse pulling towards east. You can imagine, if you are sitting in this cart, can you reach somewhere? Is this possible? What is the consequences? What will happen? I think myself, this cart will be broken. Now you think yourself, in your mind: How many contradictions? You have no certain kind of thought. In morning time you are thinking about one target, in afternoon you are thinking about different target.

This is a famous doctor, famous surgeon, he knows about body, he knows about illness. But child sneezes and he stops his journey. This is a contradiction. This is a belief. This belief, this is a small belief, but you have many kinds of belief. For instance, if you go towards church, if you go towards temple, if you go towards mosque, they contributed (a) lot of false things in mankind. I give three examples:

The first example: Jesus was born, his mother was (a) virgin. In olden times you have to believe, if you do not believe, then what is the consequences? You have to believe, otherwise you go into the hell. This hell is the problem in your mind. You cannot argue, you cannot find out – what is the truth, and what is the sense? But you have to believe.

If you go towards Muslims: What Muslim says? This Mohammed is the only one prophet of God. God never comes, only prophet comes. And this Mohammed is the only one prophet. And this Mohammed is going towards heaven – on a female horse.

Then Hindus are criticizing: Oh, this is o.k., female horse can never go in heaven. If there is male horse, male horse can go. A woman is not allowed to go in heaven, only men can go in heaven. And Mohammed is sitting on female horse and going into the heaven together with his body.

If you ask any question about this blind faith, then you will be persecuted. There is a label, if you don’t believe, you will go towards hell. Hell is important here. This thousand-year-learning created a problem in your thoughts. I appreciate hundreds (of) years before, if you are propagating this thought in front of the congregation, in front of the audience, they can accept, they can believe. This belief might be possible because there was a long distance from India to Europe. But now ? Indian person can come in Europe. This whole planet is one village. Now this is impossible. Now you can study Muslims, you can study Christians, you can study Hindus. You can study every kind of religion. This every kind of religion contributed  thousands of thoughts in your mind, and these thousands of thoughts create contradiction in your mind. That’s why you’re sitting in such cart that all the horses are driving or pulling the cart in different directions. This was not the fault of this doctor. This was the fault of our contribution. Then what happened?

Then Karl Marx came: This religion is opium, this is useless. If you believe in religion you will not reach anywhere. Marx created dictatorship of the proletariat. All labourers, you gather under an umbrella, you try to catch the natural things. You are the owner. “Das Kapital” says, don’t believe in Koran, don’t believe in Bible, don’t believe in Ghita. You believe only in „Das Kapital“ - „Das Kapital“ is the only one saviour in this world. On one side I was reading Ghita, the principle of Ghita. Ghita says: Lord Krishna says, I am the only saviour. Now this Marx came, Marx says: ”I am the only saviour.” This is a difference, difference of thoughts. Marx says: “There is no God. This is useless to believe in God.” But I want to tell you that if you believe in God or if you don’t believe in God, there is no matter. If you believe in God this is a different thing. If you don’t believe in God, this is also a different belief. For example, I don’t believe in God, this is the meaning that I don’t believe in the existence of God. But this is also a belief. On one side you are believing, there is God - on other side you are believing there is no God – both are beliefs. The problem of belief is not important because if you will believe, I tell you the truth, your exploitation will be there - if you believe in God, if you believe in religion, if you believe in  “Das Kapital”, if you believe in communism - your belief is the main cause of problems.

Now you come in modern time. I was looking TV and there was an advertisement. This advertisement says: This is Lux toilet-soap. The world-famous beauty queen uses this toilet-soap and this toilet-soap because of this Lux toilet-soap, I am beauty. It means if I do not use this Lux toilet-soap, I am ugly. So because I don’t want to be ugly, that’s why I want to buy Lux toilet-soap. This mentality. Now again: If you don’t believe you have to go in hell. If you don’t buy Lux, then you have to be ugly. This man who is selling this Lux, he is not so bold, he cannot say that you will go in hell. He is saying only if you will not buy this Lux toilet soap, then you will not look beauty. Then you go directly into the shop and buy this Lux toilet-soap. Still you are slave. My dear friend, still you are in belief. And what happens? All these people who belong to different (sorts of) religion, all these people who want to sell different kinds of article - because now, now the world is consumer. Before, before in olden times world was not consumer. You are consumer, that’s why you are consuming the thing. And this consuming is your religion. The fashion of religion is changed. Now you cannot find such argument that if you don’t buy this Lux toilet-soap, you will be in hell. If say this kind of advertisement on TV, then nobody will buy this thing, they know this thing. I want to tell you some  …….stories:

I was reading “Panchatantra”. This “Panchatantra” is a famous short story book in India and this “Panchatantra” says:

There was a braman – I think most of the people know what is braman – there was a braman. He went into the market. There was a small baby-goat. He bought this baby-goat, four-month-old baby-goat. He was very happy, he bought this little animal and he put this little animal on his shoulder and (was) walking towards his village. 4-5 drug-addicted people – I can give a very good word for this – 4-5 hooligans - hooligans means, they have no work, they try to cheat other people, they try to loot other people -  4-5 hooligans, they saw this braman carrying this baby-goat on (the) shoulder. They were thinking how to snatch, this is a very good goat, very good flesh in this goat. How to snatch from this braman? Because this braman looks young. And hooligans are just like smokers, drug-addicts, they cannot fight with this braman. Braman is strong. If there is a fight between these hooligans and this braman, the braman will win. Then they were thinking how to snatch this goat.

They made one idea: One hooligan at the corner of the city was standing and said, now what is he saying to the braman: “Good morning, braman.” And the braman said: “Good morning:”  “This dog is very good.” The braman says: “This is dog? This is goat, this is not dog.” The hooligan says: “This is your thinking, but it is dog.” Then he moved little bit and he was thinking: “I paid a lot of money for this baby-goat and this man is telling that this is a dog?” A confusion, a confusion came in his mind. After few metres the second hooligan came. The second hooligan says: “Good morning Pandidji, how much you paid for this beautiful dog?” Pandid says: ”This is not a dog, this is a goat.” Then hooligan says :” Pandidji, you are a braman, you are carrying a dog on your shoulder.” Then Pandid says: “This is, this is a goat.” But this doubt in his mind spread. Then he was walking (a) little bit and he was thinking whether “this man cheated me – or not?” He put out on his shoulder, he put this baby-goat on the ground and touched (it) carefully. “What is this?” Then he was confirmed that this is a goat and then again he put on the shoulder. He was walking little  bit further and all of a sudden what happened? This third hooligan was there. This third hooligan says: “This dog is very good. If you want to give (it to) me I can give you the money.” Then  braman was confused totally. There was confusion, there was darkness: “Everybody is telling this is a dog. Everybody is telling this is a dog. They don’t know me. It is looking like a dog.” Then his mind was turned. He put this baby-goat on the ground. I am telling you the truth – this baby-goat was looking like a dog. And braman was confused. What to do? “I am a braman, I am a wise man. If I carry this dog on my shoulder in my village then people will laugh: ‘Oh, this is a braman, he’s reading Bhagavad Ghita, he’s preaching in the temple, and he’s carrying a dog on his shoulder. This is hell. ‘” Then he was thinking himself: “This man cheated me, let me throw this.” And he threw this. And now you know, this hooligan, all hooligans took this goat and ate the flesh of this goat.

Your mind is like this: If you repeat one false thing, untrue thing many times, then it looks like (the) truth.

(So this Dolmetscher translated my lecture, quickly, I completed (in) half an hour and Dolmetscher completed in 15 minutes, this is good.)

Now the modern science, we come together (in) modern science. I was reading some modern science journals. This modern science, they say: “Don’t believe in religion, don’t believe in communism, don’t believe in ancient books. Believe what modern science says. And some-times this modern science is also cheating. One scientist says: “This is good that you give breast to the child.” One scientist says: “If you will give breast to the child then you will lose your beauty.” This is a confusion. After some three months they say: “This antibiotic is good for you” – after three months they say, “this sulphur drug is good for you”, after three months they say, “this is good for you”. One dentist was selling toothpaste. He says: “This is good for you, 24 hours. This toothpaste is good for your teeth”. It’s a new belief and all the time you are consumer because of the advice of people, you don’t know the truth. (…) How?

For example, in early morning I go outside from my house and I see a woman. I think in my thoughts: “This is a very good, beautiful woman. Now I cannot touch this woman because I am a guru. I am a family man.” This desire to have this woman is already in my mind. But because of social bondage because of outer reason I can’t touch. Then what happens? I suppress this desire in my mind. Then there are two ways: One way: If I sleep at night-time, the same desire comes, at night-time, during dreamtime there is no bondage. If this woman comes in my dream I can touch this woman. There is no more society, nothing else, this suppression of the desire is coming outside during the time of night-dreamtime. This is the one way. If this suppression never comes in my dream, then what happens? This suppression creates confusion in my mind. This suppression creates confusion in my mind. And in one day – honestly I am asking you the question – how many times in a day do you suppress your desires? If you see a very good Mercedes-car, you see, if I have. You consumers. Your society is consumer-society. The whole world is becoming consumer – if you go in China they are consumer, if you go in Asia they are consumer, if you go in West or in America, everywhere, north pole to south pole: consumer-people. And these consumer-people they have different kind(s) of desires and every day they suppress many, many desires, and every day they create (a) lot of confusion in their mind(s). And this confusion, I am telling you the truth, this suppression, this confusion, this confusion is disease. This confusion is problem. This confusion creates unhealthiness. This confusion is the blockade of free flow of energy. There is no free flow of energy because of the confusion. You are not healthy because of the confusion. That’s why I am telling you, you are sitting in a cart and in all directions there are different kind of horses and they are pulling the cart. The cart is going nowhere. And what will happen in (the) end? We will die, the cart will be broken. We will not achieve any achievement in this world. And this confusion is not new. (The) last 5ooo years we are learning this confusion, how to be confused. And my dear friend, I am here to make a free flow of energy in your body. If there is blockade, there is disease, there is hindrance. My energy break(s) this hindrance. I am not (a) scientist, I will not give you any kind of belief, I never give any kind of belief to anybody else. I never told in my life that you believe in my work. I tell you the truth – you see the experience. You know yourself. When you know yourself, I try to break the faith (?) of the people. If somebody, they say, I have belief in you, then I am very careful. I am not going to teach any kind of religion, but this man says: I have a belief in you. I am not creating any kind of belief in you.. I never created belief. What I am doing here – now I am going to give you the solution of my problem. I created problem, now I give you the solution.

Once, what happened, there was a blind man, and this blind man was (a) very tough man, he was very, very argumentative. Blind people, they are really argumentative. You don’t know – we have Lord Ganesha. You have seen this kind of picture in Hindu Gods; that Ganesha is elephant head and body is like man. What is this meaning? Elephant head, it means these argumentative people they have not their head. They borrow their head from other people. They create problem. If you borrow the thoughts from the other people, then definitely you will create problem. This thought is not yours, this is not your authentic thought. So what happened?

This blind man was very argumentative because he borrowed his thoughts: “And the people they say: “There is light. There is sunlight. God is like light. Darkness is like Satan. Satan lives in darkness. God always lives in light. Light is God – my “Lichtkörper”. “Lichtkörper” is like God.” They are arguing with this blind man. This blind man says: “ I don’t know, I don’t know any light. If there is light, I want to hear, hear the sound of light.” But a blind man cannot and you cannot prove the sound of a light. “If you cannot prove the sound, then please prove – I can taste.” “You cannot taste light, this is very, very difficult.” - “I can feel.” - “You cannot feel light. If there is sunlight, you cannot feel what is going on.”  This was very difficult, all villagers were very, very difficult. They say there is light, but this blind man says. “There is no light”. This blind man is also right. These other people are also right. But this is a problem. Then at last what happened?

Fortunately, Lord Buddha was in this village. Buddha was sitting silently under a tree. Then these villagers brought this blind man in front of  Lord Buddha and they asked a question: “Oh Buddha, we want to ask a question. You know and we know, everybody knows that there is light. But this blind man never admits.” Then Buddha says: “ This is a problem. I know a famous healer. You go to this healer.” Then the villagers took this blind man to the healer, and this healer did his work, and this blind man started to see. When he started to see, then his faith was broken.

When he started to see then he can see what is light. There is no proof, then there is no explanation.

I want to tell you that if you want to know something, there are two words: to believe or to know. To believe – in our life – is a problem. And to know – in our life – is to know the light. If you know, if you know, if you have the experience of knowledge, then this is authentic. If you believe, then this is not authentic. If you believe you are consuming the things. If you know yourself what is good for you, this may be different: That certain thing may be good for Moses and certain thing may not be good for Barbara. This is a difference because everybody is individual here. Everybody is like God here. So to know is important. My slogan is this: I never create belief in people – I create knowledge in the people. If some people say, oh, I don’t believe in any kind of healing, I am not telling you that you believe in me. Belief is (a) very old word. I want to tell you to know me. When you know me, then you will know yourself. When you know yourself, then your world, your thinking pattern will be different. So this evening I want to give you more and more stress towards to know, not to believe. This is my conclusion. And I think that in (the) future, if you will know yourself, then your thinking, your perspective, and your experience will be different. If you believe, then everything will be different. You are living in 2ooo-century, you are a new, modern man and I expect from you that old should die and new should come. This evening we will try to welcome this new man. This new man is sleeping in your heart, and I bless you that you can get the knowledge of this new man. ……….. Thank you very much.
